Borde du Lac Lodge offers a small resort with  6 summer cabins located on beautiful Benedict Lake (connected to Leech Lake) in Laporte, MN.  Our cabins are available for seasonal and monthly rental. We are not the typical resort with a high number of weekly turnovers.

Benedict Lake is 464 acres in size with a maximum depth of approximately 100’. This lake also provides access to Leech Lake which is 161 sq miles and a maximum depth of 150’.
Borde du Lac offers the best of both worlds.  Access to a large recreational lake with the convenience and privacy of a smaller lake with spring fed water, clarity. Both lakes offer excellent fishing opportunities.

The resort consists of 650 feet of shoreline, 6 cabins, and 45 acres of huge pine trees graced with groomed walking trails edged with wild flowers. A charming, meandering boardwalk dotted with small decks equipped with patio table/chairs overlooks the lake and stretches from cabin #4 to Cabin #10.  Due to the fact that the resort is south facing, both sunrise & sunsets are there to be enjoyed from your cabin deck or screen porch.

Located less than ¼ of a mile to the west, is the Paul Bunyan State Forest. Paul Bunyan State Forest's boasts113,000 acres and features a terrain that's rough and hilly, with many tiny ponds and bogs. Paul Bunyan State Forest's hundreds of miles of trails among pine forests makes it one of premier state forest destinations.

This is a smaller quiet family resort and we cater to  seasonal, multi seasonal and monthly rentals.  It is part of what was a larger, 3rd generation resort that was started in the early 1950’s. The fully furnished cabins have been upgraded with modern appliances, high speed internet and flat screen cable TV’s.

Boat rental and Canoes are available along with live bait.
Northwoods & private setting but Laporte (less than 5 minute drive) offers a local restaurant & grocery store.  The town of Walker (8 minute drive) which offers multiple restaurants, shopping, casino, brewery, City Park with Pickle Ball Courts/ tennis courts/volleyball.
The pristine beauty & serenity of Benedict Lake but easy access to amenities if you so choose….Location….Location…..Location.
